Don't know how your driving is, but with some decent preloading you should be able to pull off a 1.6-1.8 60ft, and a low low 14, possible 13.9. With preloading you risk less of a chance of breaking drivetrain parts and only risk burning up a clutch.

What rpms are you launching at? with slicks and preloading you should be able to preload at 5k-6k rpms and minimal wheelspin...

WTF are you doing here? lol

He's done 14.02@98.xx iirc he just never got the DRs low enough to hook good. I think his best 60' was in the 2.1 range.

Listen to this man though he can launch an SE-R good.

yep ben your spot on.

the other night i was hooking really good on low psi in the DR's but still gettin 2.1 60's it was really pissing me off.

i was launching at about 6k an she was grabbin hard an just pulling i didn't even have to slip the clutch.. i was positive i was going to have had a 1.9~ 60ft or better but it was 2.1 after 2.1 i really really thought i had some high 13 runs but i was disappointed every time i picked up my slip

im positive it was because of the humidity because the only other options are the car, which runs exremely well an is in peak condition or me the driver, not to toot my own horn or anything but i've got 50~ +/- runs which isn't alot but its enough to know that i was launching the car really well, way harder then EVER before. which is why i got ticked off an pushed to hard an got wheel hop an broke my shit.

Theoretically on street tires you should be able to trap 2.1 60fts all day, what tire pressure are you running on Drag radials? Which brand as well? I have noticed that DRs do not like to be too low in psi or too much. On BFG DRs I am right around 18psi.

From my experiences of drag racing (have well over 300 passes) If without preloading the car you are still grabbing traction @6k rpm, you should bring it up higher in the rpms and preload. Which in this case means that you should bring the revs up to about 6.5k- 7.5k and preload from the first staging light. On DRs you should be right around 1.7-1.9 60fts. Try practicing on preloading your car and see what kind of 60fts you get. You arent bracket racing so reaction times don't matter at PIR.

On many of my old B13s with stock wheels and Falken Ziexs or Kumho cheapies I have been able to trap 1.9 60fts and a 14.9 on a i/h/e b13. thats with preloading at about 4.5-5.5k rpms. All about practice and patience. I don't know what time of night you were racing, but generally rule of thumb is to just do a couple shake down runs at like 75% and let the other racers lay down the contact patch. You will notice that traction is much greater later through the night.

I do alot of co-driving at the drag races, currently drive an all-motor CRX, SRT4, mr2 turbo and Celica All trac turbo. So far the season has been very good to us. Maybe before the season gets shut down we can all do a pir night and have a meet and greet. I myself am looking to get back into another b13 or sr20 type FWD...

screw drag radials!
yep, wheel hop sucks. i had it with lca bushings/motor mounts to. no d/r's man. i don't care what anyone says about how great they are/what great times they got.
thats why i will never drag again w/o REAL SLICKS . once you launch a few times on slicks, you'll say the same thing.
absolutely no hop with slicks ~12psi. just rev to 6k or higher, preload, and hang on when you drop the clutch! keep the motor on the big lobes and yer golden.
some call me the bench racer

ps i have a pair of 20x6x14 Mickey Thompson et drags i'll GIVE you FREE if you come get them. just pay to have them dismounted! ($20 maybe). or, buy the wheels, i'll throw in the slicks FREE.
