Thread: Colorado?

hmm, is it just visual inspections? Do you have to do that each year or only once? I don't currently have a cat on my car, but that won't be hard to put in if that's all it takes.

Also, how are the winters there? I keep reading they are decently mild but what does someone who actually lives there think?

It's only smog once every two years. Its a quick visual then dyno. be sure you dont have good rims on either cause the dyno guys suck and your rims will get screwed up. Tires too low profile they'll turn you away. The smog here is like jiffy lube 5 bays at once just trying to hurry you in and out.

Past couple weeks its been 50's been cruising my B13 around. Well this year its only snowed 4 times in the city area including today. Alot of the snow gets caught up in the mountains. It does has its moments where it can dump on ya. For the most part it is pretty mild and when it does snow if it isnt a really bad storm it drys up like in day or two.

Here's a random Sun night at the car meet up. The car scene is really cool, cops don't run you out cause we are allowed to be there. Alot of big dawgs show up 500+whp cars show up. Even seen a Lambo show up. After the meet the whole meet goes on a cruise up into the mountains or a nice freeway run thru the city. The freeway runs are fun cause of the downshift racing of course. Its a big cruise too not just a couple of cars. Happens every Sun night.


The Stock Skyline runs a 14.5 cause of the high Altitude, seen it at the track. I don't know the guy but it was for sale so was the green one.

Emissions stuff sounds similar to Illinois where I used to live. There's no emissions in KS. Hopefully a cat is all that I would need to pass. Do they check error codes at all?

Cat is all you need, I doubt they check error codes but the check engine light if its on could be a problem if the tech who dyno's says something.

Well, looks like I got some work ahead of me then if I move to CO. I got a ton of error codes. Most I can't do anything about like the CPS due to my flywheel. I think I also have an EGR error code ;/

Almost three years. I like It here cause people here are laid back unlike the wild west. They are a lil snobby but I can deal with that then ghettoness.

Well, this is good news! Looks like they don't care about anything else like CEL or visual as long as you pass the actual emissions test. I think I just need to get a cat and lean out my car.

What does this have to do with emissions?

Potentially, a lot. When a vehicle's "check engine" light is on, it usually is an indication of significant problems with the emissions control system and/or other systems detected by the vehicle's onboard computer.

Effective April 1, 2003, an illuminated "check engine" light is no longer a mandatory pass/fail component of the emissions testing process. If the "check engine" light is illuminated, it is noted on the vehicle inspection report each motorist receives at the end of the emissions testing procedure. However, it is an informational tool for the motorist, rather than a reason for failure.

Yeah a cat and make sure it ain't running too rich and your good to go.
