What I do agree is that 3 inch exhaust is not for everyone.

There are people that prefer to keep it as quiet as possible and are willing to sacrifice those 3WHP max that 3 inch gives you in some cases, if that.
This is true for stock to light bolt-ons engines.
Look in lonewolfs case even heavily bolt-on and no gains.

So you have to take a long hard breath and think before going 3 inch as noise is a concern here too for some of us.

He went way over the line with alot of his comments, Its as simple as that, but if you condone that then good for you! I personally don't and think hes the arrogant one.
I am done now, and will be sure to post my dyno results with my 3" exhaust.

Just curious, were these back to back dynos or different days?

with my 60mm catback i dynoed 173hp, 137tq. 1/4 mile times of 15.0 and top speed of 230kmh.

with my 3" exhaust i dynoed 162hp, 146tq (adjusted dizzy timing since and have not dynoed again yet) 1/4 mile times of 14.37 and top speed of 242kmh.

F what the dyno thinks, the performances on the road and track are what counts for me.

Peace

Let the quarter-mile times do the talking. Quit with the biased/racial god complex. Show your stats including 60ft, 1/8mile, 1/4 mile, and mph.

Everyone's opinion / experience is valid.
I take note of all of them from here, and other forums.

I also have found that different people are after different goals, and are happy to compromise either performance over noise, or vice versa.

It IS sad that neither the headers nor the exhaust worked on your car Lonewolf; trust me I KNOW what it's like to spend money and have very little gain.

I, personally, have seen the improvement of performance, both SOTP and dyno from a 3" exhaust. it IS at the expense of the noise, and I'm TRYING to find a compromise.

Guys lets cool it!
You all have valid and understandable opinions / experiences; let's keep it seemly, please...

I apologize for anything I said that was out of line.

This is why people go turbo, you get 4X for the same N/A Price

N/A go from 2.5" to 3" and you gain 5HP
Turbo you gain 20HP or so

N/A is masochism

You do know that with 2 14" resonators or a cat resonator combo you can make a 3" exhaust just as quiet as a 2.5" exhaust, so the whole quieter issue is not a valid excuse.

There is just something special about N/A cars that really gets me going....... I mean boost is very addictive also, but the maintenance just killed me. I just kept breaking things left and right and finally gave up and went VE, which I am loving every minute of!
