I know that the one fan should probably come on, but should both be running? Not that it matters much when I come to think of it.

I'm mainly worried about a 12v current going into an ECU output when the low fan is turned on. Does anyone know if it's that big a deal. I did not fry anything for over 6 months, so my guess would be no.

Well, I worked on the car a bit over the weekend and rewired the fans, as I had previously indicated. Everything works as it should fan-wise, and the low fans now turn on when the engine is not too hot (with my unfilled and unplugged AC system on) and the high fans kick in when the coolant hits about 200 degrees.

I started getting the idle issue again if and only if I turn on the front defroster while driving around. If I turn it on when the car is idling, I see the RPMs go up a bit, then restabilize, as they should. I'm thinking that just filling up my AC system or simpy disabling the auto-AC turn on at defrost at this point will resolve the issue. The rear defroster does not seem to be a problem anymore for some odd reason.

While I was at it, I tried out the resistor install for EGR removal, and I have not gotten the EGR code yet. I am still getting the code for the rear O2 sensor, but I need to punch a wire in my ECU connector for it to work (I had to work with a 1998 pigtail, and one of the wires is missing for the rear O2 sensor). I may be running code-less over the summer, and driving without the light will be a first in years for me
