Valve to Valve Lash Pad Thickness
OK, now you've done a valve job on your VE head. You re-used the old valves or maybe had new seats installed and bigger valves. With all this machine work there is a very good chance that the tips of the valves were the lash pads rest are no longer at the same height under any one rocker.
The VVL cam design has the rocker on a fixed shaft, so there is no way the rocker can compensate (tilt if you will) for the differing valve heights like on a DE head.
What is the recomended manner for setting lash pad thickness to make sure the rocker tips are contacting the valves at the same time? And what is the allowable difference at the tips (valve to valve) on the same rocker?
I'm not asking how to set valve clearance, but how to make sure the rocker is contacting both valves at the same time.
