Wierd throttle issue is it my TPS
So I just finished up my sr20ve swap on my 92 g20 maf is good checked voltage idles fine and smooth but when I rev it only goes to 2500 and bounces off it, similar to as if it were a very slow rev limiter, now I have a tps on there that looked the same as the stock one(which broke) and I had seen that some usdm ones fit the VE and the part number was the same besides the letter and 2 digits (a22-659)B00 , so I threw it on but on second look it the little leg on the inside is not in the same position as on the stock ve one so could this be my problem?

Sounds like a Maf issue to me.. even tho you checked it..

Might check the coolant temp sensor.. use the one from the old motor..

You might also try disconnecting the tps for Shits n giggles

If that "little leg" doesn't make contact with the movement of the throttle body shaft you wont rev above 2500. That "leg" has to be in the same position on the replacement tps as the OEM one. Ask me how I know lol.

so does this sound like the problem you had , because i really doubt its the maf, it idles fine, its reading properly, usually when theres maf problems the car will just fall flat on its face if you try to rev it, so what im asking is when you had the wrong tps in there did it do the same deal and bounce off the 2500

The thing of it is I have an Ebay 70mm throttle body with a VE TPS. When the tab on the TPS didn't make contact with the tang on the end of the throttle body shaft the ECU didn't compensate for the demand for fuel because it didn't get the signal to increase duty cycle when the throttle is opened. Whether OEM or a custom application the tang for the TPS has to be in the same position as the OEM one if you're using the stock TB. I fixed my non rev issue with the TPS but have a high idle issue that needs to be addressed. No biggie since I know how to troubleshoot it.

Unplug the tps while the car is running, then plug it back in to reset it. Make sure the tps is at 0.45-0.5v closed and around 4.5 wide open. This with key in on position, engine not running. Reset idle speed memory by disconnecting tps again, keep key in on position for a second. Then turn key to off position and count 5-6 seconds after ECCS relay to ecu clicks off. Repeat this procedure 20 more times.. make sure that you do this procedure while in timing mode.
