Interest in Ferrea valves for sr20ve
Hi guys,

Been chatting to the guys over at Ferrea and wondering how many of you would be interested in Ferrea 6000 valves for your ve's?

I need around 20 orders to make it worth their while to start producing these. But I have to buy all of them in this batch. So I'm thinking oversize and group buy.

Preference for iconel? I see th honda valves don't have it.....? Will certainly help keep costs more reasonable..

Not to be clueless but aside from oversize options what advantages would the Ferrea 6000 valves give as opposed to OEM?

I'm not an expert on this but bigger valves is the main advantage.
We have the opportunity to get another manufacturer on board vs currently paying $400 plus for supertech who is the only supplier of bigger valves for the ve currently.
They can make these according to any preference required, e.g. hollow stems (22%) lighter, back cut etc for performance.
Material there are many choices, I mentioned 6000 series as it's the middle of the road material in terms of cost vs strength.

Are they willing to make some 6000 series and some super Alloy or do they all have to be 100% the same ?

Are we talking for 1N5 or 8H6 Cylinder heads ???

Mark me as interested for 8H6 Super Alloy oversized valves

Hi LamPark. I'm afraid they must be identical per batch. Type and size. Only thing that can vary is material. Barely looks like there is any interest even in 1n5, never mind 8h6.

Ok I guess we will keep paying $400 plus for supertech. Typical sr20 community.

Interest in Ferrea valves for sr20ve
Tell you what, instead of putting the community down, maybe toss a price up. How about some photos of past work. Or maybe some expected gains. Yah its a typical forum, and info makes the internet work. Gotta sell it no matter how good you think it is, help us with the why and people commit.

In order to toss a price up people need to speak up about what they want in the valves.... As I've mentioned there are many options available from Ferrea and we have the opportunity to specify what we want here, vs just buying something off the shelf a manufacturer decided to produce.

I didn't think Ferrea needed any introduction. They are a very well respected valve train manufacturer and very big in the honda market for example. They also produce sr20de/t items already, but nothing for the VE yet. Its a high quality product and comes with Ferrea full backing and warrenty.

Price wise, again, depends on the specs we provide. But to give you an idea, a full set of intake/exhaust valves for a b20/k20/h22 etc in the 6000 series material retail for about $260. Thats a lot less than $420 or so for Supertech. Off course we can specify iconel, sodium, super alloy etc and also get to $400 a set, but I'm thinking if the 6000 series is good enough for a lot of high rpm hondas then it should be good enough for most ve owners looking for bigger valves without breaking the bank.

We pay $600-$1100 for cams, $260-$300 for roughly 6% more intake flow and 14% more exhaust, or even more if we choose back cut valves or stems for example isn't too bad. Expected gains, who knows. I recall Payu going from 218-280odd whp with his 2.4 on bigger valves. I"m not aware of back to back dyno's with the only change being bigger valves. But on all motor I cannot see this being a bad mod if the supporting stuff is there.
