Thread: Reusable?

This was #1 rod from my stock set of VE pistons and rods. After taking a close look I noticed all these little specks on the rod journal. Can't feel them at all, but can see them if you look real close. Should I reuse this rod?

a micropolish would not be a bad idea.

I thought that was normal. If u cant feel it with your nail then its just a stain. so no problem, there should only be issues if the bearing spun.

micropolish what, the rod? or the crank journals?

Cool wasn't sure. They were just fine when they came out of the engine.

Use bearings are like used underwear.. That's just nasty considering they're so cheap to replace

Ignore my last comment. Upon closer observation that is a connecting rod not bearings
