Why the .80mm thickness? Anyone know the thickness of the vet gasket

is that verified? a figure of 1.2mm was bandied about here on the forum but maybe that was for the composite gasket. The metal gasket, i think I tried to measure it with verniers and it was thicker than 1.2mm but I figured when compressed it may have been about 1.2

is there a difference between the 20V and the VET gasket?

I have a few of them all brand new and that was measured this morning. I did not compress the headgasket anymore than what I would use the force to measure. I had it as low as 1.2mm and as high as 1.6mm and I believe that was the angle I was holding the caliper. Most of the times it was 1.4mm with my very mediocre digital caliper. I dunno where my good mechanical caliper is at.

I have tested all from .76 to 1.2 VET metal headgasket with 12.5:1 pistons and the .76 its the winner!!! But Cometic doesnt make a .76 VE specific unless its a special order

What compression ratio will be with Cometic 88mm 0.8mm gasket and 12.5:1 88mm pistons?

My head has had a light skim with the previous owner, the chambers have been fettled a tad.

We are CC'ing them tomorrow evening so hopefully will be able to work out a rough comp ratio.

Have a spreadsheet that works things out roughly, not sure how it can be shared.
