No 16 rods are not the same length as the 2.0 ve.

i'm using sr16ve n1 pistons to get close to 12.5 to 1. sr16ve pistons should be like 13.5 to 1.

I'm sure it's been answered so many times before, but why did Nissan decide to have the N1 at a lower c/r than the 'normal' 16ve?

Did they get the compression back from shaving the head, and wanted lighter pistons? Don't even know the weight differences, just thinking outloud..

The head of the N1 is supposed to have been shaved 1mm from Nissan.

Bigger camshaft profile needs more clearance for safety.

So to answer your question, it didn't have lower compression than the regular sr16

Makes sense now, bit silly of me to think Nissan would make the N1 lower..

12.5 ve comp
Just a question are the sr16ve rods used with piston as well to get the 12-13:1 comp or sr16 piston with 2.0 rods?

2.0 rods are used. Nobody runs the 1.6 rods.

SR16 Non N1 pistons = 13.5:1 CR. Give or take, some say 13.2:1.

SR16 N1 pistons = 12.5:1 CR.

This is based on using the 2.0 crank and rods.
