Help with valve adjustment
I've been trying to find the correct values for doing a valve adjustment on my ve and I'm a little confused by some of these measurements.

From FSM:
SR20VE and VALVE LASH. Lets try to come to some consensus.... WHAT IS IT? - SR20 Forum

Now I'm no expert on this kinda stuff, but I've asked a few other people and these measurements seem weird.

I was expecting to find measurements like:
Warm
Intake: XX
Exhaust: XX

Cold
Intake: XX
Exhaust: XX

But instead it's broken down to Warm/Cold, Intake/Exhaust, Cylinder 1/ Cylinder 2-4. Cylinder 1 has measurements for Front/Back and Cylinders 2-4 has a measurement for whole.

Could someone please explain this to me?

So in millimeters that converts to:
0.17mm IN
0.27mm EX

Can you explain where you got the numbers?

I called Mazworx, and although, it seemed like they didn't have exact numbers, I was told they typically go with:
0.06 - 0.08mm IN
0.12 - 0.14mm EX

This measurement cant be in MM must be in IN
My measurements are a average conversion from the FSM converted from MM to IN
Also track tested jejeje!!! 292whp 92x92 on N1 cams
I have take measurements from a very low miles motor before putting it on the car and came with this readings too!!

Use a feeler gauge.

You just poke it in between the rocker and the top of the valve (with retainer)

Sorry, just being a little naughty

0.009" in & 0.013" ex is what Charles & I have been using for years on Nissan cams.

You will be fine + or - 0.002" from there.

Thanks for the input, but I am still curious about the importance of adjusting cylinder 1 to be slightly looser than 2-4 per the FSM. My machinist who is working on the head right now (has 20+ years experience) believes that it has to do with the oil pressure and the VVL.
