Cause and effect :(
This is what happens when you "rush" the last steps in a VE (and probably, DE) headgasket reinstall. Doh!

Coolant return was loose and basically spewing coolant as I drove it. This happened a few weeks ago, I had been meaning to post this, because there is a lesson in it. Well there's a lesson in everything we do, and this one is: Don't forget the small stuff when doing something major - don't rush to get it done either

Tell you what though, until I figured out that it was just a hose, I freaked out for a good hour because I had just spent 4 weeks working on this thing.

All is good now Car runs like it had before the previous gasket went the way of the dinosaur, and feels like it has more of a pull up top with the porting and polishing.

Awww yes the little things. I know this one as well, my mistake was a less easy to fix. Good you sorted it out.

I just did my stepkids headgasket on his Honda, and yes I took my time for that reason. I also labeled all the connectors and coolant hoses.

May want to get a real water temp gauge. The idiot factory gauge is not reliable for accuracy, well known fact.
