advantages of running a vvl dizzy over de dizzy?
I'm a b14 vvl'd and on a DE dizzy. Is there any advantages with running a vvl dizzy over my DE dizzy?

Depends which DE distributor you're talking about. Built-in coil DE distributor? Basically the same thing as the VE distributor. I'd use which ever one bolts up correctly.

If it is a DE distributor with an external coil, I would stick with that. I like them better than the built-in coil units. Something about having a huge inductor next to the CAS doesn't fill me with confidence. They also produce a stronger spark, and the coil is easily upgraded if you feel like it.

Basically what Ben posted. You are running an obd2 DE dizzy with an obd1 ecu?

I run the B14 dizzy with no issues. If you are worried about spark convert to COP. Your NA VE wont know the difference, the B14 one you can at least get parts for easily.

OBD2 DE and VE are practically the same, though to be exactly the same 1997.5+ and VE should be the same. Reason I say that is because Nissan sells two different spark plug wires for 95-97, and 97.5-99 2.0's.

Real advantage of using VE distributor is having two ears bolted up, which can prevent oil leaks. Problem as it was mentioned before is, VE only rotor head and cap (though RR one might work). What I found is, you can fairly easily swap in Roller Rocker head holder, rotor head, and cap over and bam you have easily accessible USDM parts.

Help!!

Ah yeah I moved them and forgot to fix the links. Fixed.

You have external coil, definitely keep it!

The DE distributor doesn't require hacking your wiring up like the VE one does. That was a good enough reason for me to keep the DE part.
