Thread: Muffler for 3" exhaust

With the nx you are going to be limited on muffler selection. Resonator(s) is the key.

I use an Apex WS2. Pretty quiet.

I'm sure its possible to have a quiet car. I've quieted down 500whp+ Hondas with the use of VRS SS piping adding Vibrant oval resonator and Apexi WS2 muffler or Thermal R&D 8"oval x 16" muffler. On a G20 w/ VE+T we did VRS piping, Magnaflow Resonator, and Vibrant Black muffler, its real quiet for what it is as well.

Well what I am going with is VRS 3" exhaust piping, running one long resonator and order a longer bodied muffler for now. I it's still too loud then I'll get one more short resonator but after that ill just deal with it haha.

I drove a 510 with basically no exhaust for awhile so I am sure I can tolerate the NX.

Alright what about this one? Cheap, bigger then 12"s and what not.

hey you should go with the flat black 3'' inlet and 3'' outlet Vibrant muffler it sounds really good an shuts the car up

Turbo style mufflers are good at muffling noises, but provide a deep tone as a slight trade off. Better than high pitch and rasp.

Vibrant Black, Magnaflow resonator, and full 3" piping and dp. we did on a G20 VET, sounds great

3" on a ve isn't that bad, its quieter than 2.5" on a de. My friend was rolling with an open header for a couple weeks after the flange on the front of the cat broke off. That got ridiculous at full throttle but relatively quiet while cruising.

I got this cheap OBX forza 3" inlet along with a 20" resonator on my VE and is pretty quiet

it was like $50 on ebay
