VVL Solenoid current / amperage draw
Is it anywhere from 1.5-2 amps? Found only 1 or 2 posts on the old forums about the actual current draw of a single VVL solenoid and it looks like it's only 1.5-2 amps. Just wanted to confirm with someone who does know for sure just so I don't fry my Intellitronix switch (rated at 3 amps).

Update: Measured the resistance of my two solenoids. Info below:

Assuming 14 volts supply,

Intake: 10.3 ohms -> 14 volts / 10.3 ohms = 1.36 amps
Exhaust: 10.4 ohms -> 14 volts / 10.4 ohms = 1.35 amps

Threadbump!

Just finishing up my swap, and I wondered about the resistance on the solenoids. The readings I got:
Intake 12.5 ohms
Exhaust 33.0 ohms

Is it ok for the solenoids to have such uneven resistance?

I think you have your meter on the wrong resolution. If you can get an auto adjusting meter, use it.

Hmm, It might also have something to do with the fact that the wires looked corroded on the plug with higher resistance. I also broke the tab on it, so I'm gonna try to get a new connector and measure the resistance again. I'll bump this thread again in a few days.

They are less than 2 amps each.

comparing to mine, exhaust resistance looks high

I'm at 14.

oops, that's coming from the overall electrical I mean
