20V Head and S&R options
Hey,

I recently bought a 20V head which I plan to swap in the near future on my SR20VE swapped P11. I was wondering which options does this head have regarding springs and retainers? I've searched and came up with something (Using inner 1n5 springs) But really I have no idea which parts are needed to do that nor if it's really useful or not. I'd like to be able to rev to 9K on occasions and 8.5K all day on N1 cams... (BTW under this same regime for 3 years 1N5 head gave the ghost, bent intake valves on nÂș1 cylinder) so instead of fixing it, I decided to upgrade. I really don't wanna deal with this bending valves sh*t no more, specially on a expensive ass 20V head. So can anybody please chime in? Experience and opinions are welcomed.

TIA

Hey Claudio!

If the bent valves were due to valve float I would go with stiffer springs (I have a couple sets laying around if you need), and from what I understand you just need to use the OEM retainers or the ones Jagy mentioned. Another idea could be to use some pistons with deeper valve reliefs, but that's just a guess.

Thanks jagy, I'm gonna ask JB if he can get a hold of one of those sets.

Nicoxis, 20V (8H6) head has quite some differences from 1N5, retainers being one of them since it uses a a single spring. Gracias por tu ofrecimiento en todo caso. Si nececito te contacto

Cheers,
