the runners on the "n/a" version measure 14.5cm or 5.66 inches. whats ideal for a ve then? anyone measured a n1/bj runner length?

7" or 7.5 seems to work pretty good. I forget the exact length we tested that cleared the heater core and firewall.

There is a real long n/a version of the BJ's manifold. Forget about having heat though.

The runners on my IM measure up to about 8". The motor loves it. They are also large in size with 52mm stacks inside of the plenum.

9.5" to the top of your bellmouth Bes.

Tuned lengths of 7.5"-10" for NA, runners of 50mm as the dimensional area of the intake port
Measure about 48mm. Tapered belmouths of 52mm and larger depending on taper and plenum.

Bellmouth size (mm) x 2 = TB size needed to support.

Plenum volume, well thats another convo/debate.

how many will spend to have a good manifold? it is not cheap..also what sr20gtir has stated and also been told to me by very reputable manifold builder is a larger throttle is needed.

So who makes custom manifolds on this forum? This is the question everyone is keeping secret. Don't know why.... it only a manifold..... sharing knowledge we all can grow. I have a bone stock VE by the way. No plans to upgrade internals below the head in the future.

i am guessing no one shares because to get it done right costs more money than most on the forum is willing to spend..

I don't think anyone is hiding information. I really don't think there are people producing a ton of manifolds. It seems like if you want one either you build it yourself or your pay someone to do it for you.

As far as off the shelf products, Excessive has a really short runner manifold that seems to work well on the PR guys' cars.

What it comes down to is the money. If you guys are expecting to make good power on simple setups, all motor VE is not the platform you want, plain and simple. We work hard for the bigger setups. Its not that we are making insane money. Set your priorities straight. Save up and buy the right combo of parts. The recipe for a good flowing IM has been mentioned. It just seems to me most of the all motor guys will spend at most 400$ on N1 cams and thats about it. The average budget build will only take you so far. If I was to do it over again, I would have made ITB's my first choice. Pricey but nothing matches the gains it gives. Ok, i'm going back to work.
