My ve is too slow
Hello guys,

I have a problem, my sr20ve is too slow. I made a dashboard movie and the time betweeen 0 and 180km/h is really slow. Its only 2 seconds faster as a stock nx2000. Can anybody tell me why it is so slow?

my setup:
sr20ve with ~ 15000 miles
stock sr20ve ecu
stock sr20ve lmm
stainless steel headers
200 cell racing cat
2.5inch mid pipe
k&n filter

Here you can see my video. The street is a little bit uphil but its not much and I also have a small passanger on board. But this shouldn't be the reason why it is so slow. The shift from the second to the third gear is not optimal but I lost max. 0.5 seconds.

Thanks from germany
bye

2 seconds faster than a STOCK nx2000? something may be off because the ve should have @ least more 45hp or could it be the weight? what car is in?

sorry, but i dont think i have enough information to say what is off

peace

You are shifting kind of low in the RPM band in my opinion, at least in that video.

I suggest getting some N1 cams and valve springs, get your ECU retuned to be able to taki it to 8200-8400rpms at shift points for racing

Try a tuned ecu and a bump in timing. Also the stock ecu is useless for your goals. The vvl point engages way too late. Get your self a digital window switch lower your vvl point to 4500. This coupled with a retunned ecu and you should be suprised by the new found gains.

What kind of header? Specs? I would go through and make sure you have at least a SSAC with 2.5 secondary on it. 3" exhaust. 3" intake with N60 MAF. JK Tuning or similar ecu with no rev limiter. Get an MSD 6al-2 so you can set rev limiter to 9K. N1 cams to top it off. That will make a fun setup and a lot quick than it is now. The power to be had is in a quality intake manifold and better header. If thats not enough, get a wet nitrous kit and spray a 75 shot through it.

i think you mean 2.5" down pipe

these 'ssac' header are so over-rated. i have seen a friend of mine used STOCK primaries with modified downpipe and make 194whp with n1 cams. cars with ssac header and n1 cams here make 180+ to 190+whp

Basically yes. The secondary leads to a 2.5" outlet. The older versions have smaller primaries and a baby dick downpipe on them which could be restrictive.

Yeah you are right. A lot of guys are missing out because they don't spend the money where it counts. Intake manifold is a killer on the VE but nobody wants to spend the money. My first setup which I basically listed made 204whp once tuned. Car was trapping anywhere from 100-102 weighing in around 2600lbs with me.

There is no secret to have a strong running VE. I honestly think if you want to even run 12's with less than 2 grand you better go with a t25 kit on a DE.
