for the items you've purchased (header etc) the stock 20ve ecu and the window switch will work perfectly fine, only when you start changing cams etc will you need to think about re-tuning

AH ok that has been my question wether or not the motor will work fine with the stock ve ecu. I really just want to get her running this year and start racing her next spring. Maybe next winter look into upgrading to a tunable ecu cams, injectors ect...

Still wondering, i bought this ve with an uncut harness, can i not use this harness or must a switch over to the de harness (still in the car) i prefer to use the existing ve harness if i can because then i may not have to rewire or switch over to de distributor, and im thinking that this ecu will already be programmed to activate the VVL. comments?

Here's one I found

http://www.sr20-forum.com/vvl/37211-sr20ve-neovvl-ecu-pin-out-chart-needed.html

There are a couple on some other forums, but they either don't show up or are like you have found in Japanesse.

I downloaded this off the 'net a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember where I got it from, it may have even been from this forum.

I haven't checked it over but the few pin locations that I looked at appear to match the pin locations that appear in the link that kcobabe posted.

The ones that are hard to see (red) are:

5 - CVT Instrument cluster.....DE probably distance travelled

104 - Fuel Pump Relay (swap with 106) - Not sure why it says this??
106 - VVL Exhaust Solenoid (swap with 104) - Not sure why it says this???

Ok im still confused. lol Why wont the ecu and harness that comes with the motor he purchased work. Will the stock sr20ve ecu not activate the vvl? I ask because I just bought a b13 ser sentra to convert into a race car and was looking into swapping in a ve. I was going to purchase one with the harness and ecu. Ive never really worked on nissans or anything with an ecu before lol Thanks

Won't work because the pin out for the ECU is a bit different for a CVT trans. He can use his DE ECU as long as he changes the injectors though.

Most VE's come from automatic cars so the harness and computer will be expecting the auto tranny imput.
And yes the VE ecu will activate VVL but close to redline. i.e. useless
