Thread: Worked SR20VE - w\ 20v Cams - Help!

Hello dash peps!

All the way from NZ, I have a few questions and I have been looking through the dash for answers about cams gear settings ;-) But I would like to see where to start with my current setup.

I have currently made 133kW atw @ 8400rpm but this was a few years ago... my current N1 SR20VE makes 140kW atw with less mods.

I haven't taken the rocker cover off yet to see what the cam gears are set to but today I am going to change the rocker cover gasket and I might as well change the gears while im at it

This is my current setup (brief):

SR20VE Engine
High RPM Springs
400cc Injectors
Jasma 4-2-1, 2.5", MD Bent Exhaust
SR20VE 20v Camshafts
SR20VE 20v Pistons
Custom Intake - Bigger than N1 Intake Runners
75mm Throttle Body
MSD Ignition System
Compression Ratio: 11.5

well 20V cams make alot less HP than N1 cams up top, so there is one problem.

Well you could try a custom intake manifold. There's a few people getting good results with them. A custom header could get you a few ponies.

N1 Cams.... There's a reason everyone runs them.

I doubt cams are a problem. N1 probably wont make more than 5whp over 20V cams.

N1 cams make 6-7 WHP more than 20 V cams so that right there is part of the problem
