Re-read my question.
I have BC Valve Springs & retainers for a DE.
Wondering if they'll work in a VE.

None of this is helping lol - I have the BC set here already - I only need to know weather its possible to use them in a VE head or not.
(If they are the same dimensions they should work fine with the single spring retainer yes?)
If not - then I will buy the correct ones from Supertech or BC again.

Just buy the supertechs and get it over with.

They will fit but there are other things to look at.

Install height
Valve spring bind
maimum total lift.

Just buy the right thing for the head. Sell what you got on the forum. Someine will buy them

If they fit - I'll use them.
They won't bind as the BC figure is something like .900" lift before you have issues - which I won't be anywhere near.
Thanks

Why would you want to CHEAP OUT and do this? Be patient and run the stock s/r's until you can get the right aftermarket springs. What do you plan on revving to?

Shaggy, that 0.9" (22.8mm) bind figure you refer to is not 0.9" lift.

0.9" refers to the compressed height of the spring.

VE's have an installed height of 36.5mm
DE's have an installed height of 40mm

Simple math and you can work out if these will work.
You need the height of the spring when it binds (0.9", 22.8mm), the max lift of the cam (N1 is 11.9mm?), plus a safety margin clearance before bind (about 1.5mm minumum).

22.8mm + 11.9 mm + 1.5mm = 36.2mm

So yes, assuming all other dimensions are physically the same, i'd say you CAN run a BC DE spring in a VE.
*This cam/spring combo leaves 1.8mm clearance before coil bind.
