Running a Ve with a de ecu
I know you can run a Ve with the stock de ecu.....but would I be able to rev past 5k safely with out it leaning out or should I just stay below 5k.

I used a g20 ecu and had no problems, imagine same thing with the de ecu. But still better just to upgrade.

Yeah, you'll be good. The maf will keep track of airflow and keep it from leaning out, up until the max whp for the de maf which if I remember right is like 250whp...

Im using a DE ecu. Hard to find a OBDII ve chipped. For me anyways. The car pulls alot harder after 5k. Im not running vvl on the de ecu. Kinda scared ahha and if i slam the gas down it pulls like crap but if i ease it pulls really nice

Not unless your running an external switch for the cams. I've seen some ves run pretty damn well on stock de ecus

It will you just need some sort of switch. Window switch, msd ect... Even with a tuned ecu you cant pop vvl without it. Idk if thats what you mean or you mean is it not safe to pop with the DE ecu? But jktunning told me he can install the switch in the ecu so you dont need a msd controller

I'm rocking an automatic g20 ecu. I start to make power @5k as well. Low end feels like balls but like Sugarwater said, it moves really smooth easing on the gas.

I don't mean to thread jack but i average 23-26 mpgs, that's really close to what i was getting when i had the DE. To my knowledge I was supposed to get worse, what are you guys getting as far as mpgs?
