Greddy MSS RPM reading issue
Okay well, solenoids kick in no problems, but i notice that once it goes over 6.2k or so my RPM reading takes a giant crap and sometimes goes to 0, or just lags intensely. I have reground the MSS with the only result being that the difference between the tacho and the MSS wasn't a giant amount (before : if tacho was 6k, MSS would be 5.6, now it is within 200)and i currently have it taped into the tacho signal wire from the ECU.

Any ideas? As i was leaning towards trying the - side of the coil, but i have heard people having issues with this too

I have been using this pinout, and using pin 2

I have used both the tach signal off the ecu and the coil on my greddy mss. Both seemed to read the same. Make sure you have a good power source as a voltage fluctuation will cause odd behavior in electronics.

Just going to throw this out there, i was having a issue like that, but was due to the ecu not wanting to read my speed, and kicking in the limiter (even though i have it very very high) and freaking out the msd. Was making it go crazy.

I also take mine right from the ecu, tried dizzy stuff before and it wasnt as good.

Did you end up finding a way around it danfiveten? I noticed that my MSS even went to 0 sometimes if it didn't lag or go spastic when i was almost hitting the limiter.

Small update but I noticed i was running both solenoids, mss constant power and ignition power all from the cigarette lighter(whoopz). I ended up re-doing most of the wiring (solenoids to cig lighter, MSS to battery/ignition) and also re-did all of the MSS settings.

Will test it in the morning(aka in 5hours) and update

Turned out a screw on my speedo was loose and causing the rpm to freak out due to the ecu not pulling the speed.

Its probally not yoru problem, but you know weirder shit has happend.

Okay update, after seperating the power wires she works perfectly.
