ok for example. We are checking cylinder number intake valves. If we put shims on both valves. And then try and measure lash, we are actually only measuring the one valve with less clearance. Because the rocker is on the shaft and therefore can not pivot...

By doing only one valve per cylinder you are getting an accurate measurement

That's what I've been using, although they dont go larger then 3.0mm

Cory Buy the "Hot cams 10mm" shim kit of ebay, it goes till 3.2mm

Yeah I know about those kits, I was just saying v rod shims are the way to go unless you need above 3.0

Luckily I had some "friends" that had some thicker shims for me ; )
