Drilling the block
I did some searching, I didn't get a definite answer. When installing a Ve head on a De block can u drill the block for the oil feed into the JDM spec 53J block, or it must be done by tapping the head. The block has to go to the machine shop anyway, thats why I am asking. Please don't say just get a VE block.

Thank you for ur quick reply but no it does not, can I drill the block and get oil from the block instead is what I am asking. In a post miko said it can b done with the w11 block. I want to know if I can do it with the 53j block.

So is it only possible with the w11 block?

I want to do it for a few reasons
1. If I do it I don't have be concerned about a potential oil leak
2. The block has to go to the machine shop anyway and it will cut cost
3. when I import another VE I will have an unmolested spare head because we dont have many ves here and one usually cost about 2k US to land which is 4k in our currency.

Im pretty sure you cant, drill and tap the head and run a line from the oil filter housing. Its not that hard. You can throw the head back on any ve bottom end again just block off the hole you drilled and tapped.
