Yep, even my buddies 2.2L 90mm bore build the rings were perfectly within specs. On my built motor they were perfectly within the turbo specs. I think it really has to do with how your p2w clearances are at least thats what ive seen.
Ive yet to have to file a set of rings. I usually just give the machine shop the pistons and the spec sheet from CP for p2w clearances and havent had an issue.
