I do feel like a tool downshifting to pass in a vvl. My DE-T would boost up by 3k.

Portlanders drive really slow too sometimes I'd like to grab first but then I'd really look like a dope all revving to 6k and double clutching.

depends on your gear box an/or fd

i dont have that problem with my sr16ve tranny

think a stroker 2.4ve w/b15 tranny needs to dounnsitt? hahaha sorry, that word is no longer in my vocabulary THATS WHY i opted for a stroker.
back to the op's Q. imho, the de+t would be the better driver in almost every way.

^As much as I'm in the small turbo category for an inexpensive daily driver application, I'd love to have a big displacement VE in a B chassis for a spell, although it takes some deep pockets to do it.
