No they get all excited about that crap. hahaha. They thought it was freakin hilarious but the Germans have no shame at all.

If you come to the southeast coast you don't have to worry about winter and sometimes it's cooler in the summer also.

I lived in the northeast for 18 years and don't miss it.

The machine work on that head looks well done.

I don't like the way they machine the quench pads out. And thats a de head ; )

We need to find a company willing to do some serious work, cut up a few ve heads and develop a nice cnc program for our ports..

What other downsides are there besides losing a bit of compression from machining the combustion chambers like that?

We have a place, but noone is gonna pay the 2500 price tag for just port work

Usually you enlarge the pads to keep the burn as central and concentrated in the center of the chamber as much as possible. When you make the pads larger the you can use less dome to achieve more cr and less dome makes for more power (too high or crown/dome can cost power) as well as better centralized combustion. Idk it might make more of a difference on an NA app, but I just don't really see why they get rid of them. I don't see an upside, but maybe its different with boost.

I never paid attention to that. I wonder why they don't enlarge the pads? Would be interesting to see a before/after difference or comparing similar heads with the exception of one have the pads enlarged vs getting rid of them.

Enlarging them is a pita. Have to weld the chambers and then completey reshap and get all the cc to match again...
