This is why I think there are so many rumors about different SR20VE's.
They did do something to the motor over the years. Its called the SR20VE 20V. The VE motor came out in a 97 year production car and ran for 4 years. 90% of manufacturers have an engine model for 4-6 years. Soooooo, 4 years 190 Hp SR20VE and then 2 years 204 Hp SR20VE 20V.
