Miko, that's why I said that they have to be measured and fitted to the cylinders. Pistons do "form" themselves to the cylinder that they were originally in.

You are right on the rings, I did not add in cost for rings, however, there are many different options for rings. The factory rigs that Greg sells are not the only ones available. If you get a part number you can get ahold of Nippon (NPR) and get their set for the SR16VE. Nippon is most likely the manufacturer of Nissans factory rings as they are for Toyota.

As always, forged are the best way to go go any performance build, however, a new OEM set with OEM rings is still roughly $200 less than a set of forged. Stratton stated that he didn't want to spend a lot of money on this build, therefore $200 is a lot saved that can be spent elsewhere.

and they are unmilled ? 100% oem ?

possible, i guess when my head orginally got worked, my buddy who ported it really took a minimal ammount off it.

because iirc of the top of my head the spot you told me to measure is about .030ish also.

thanks gio.

corry still post id like to see what yours measure also.

gio were they fresh unmilled factory heads ?

cory and measurements on the ones you had laying around ?

im trying to get some oem measurements down and do the math from there.

it seems i have one other option as far as a headgasket goes, and i can get it at whatever thickness i want.

so if anyone else has any measurements feel free to post em up.
