Advice Needed
Whats up guys, now that I am finishing my finals up I am looking at finally giving my B15 some much needed attention. I have piled up parts over the past few months, and would like to get most of it installed this coming weekend. Here is a list of what I will be putting in the car followed by a few questions I am hoping some more knowledgeable heads will give some input on...

Parts
-B14 engine harness
-B14 Calum Realtime V2
-N1 Cams
-CS adjustable cam gears
-Finish wiring my prosport gauges (fuel press, water temp, oil press)
-Walbro 255

My main questions are as follows:
-Should I initially set the gears straight up at 0,0 until after I get the base tune down with the Calum/wideband/dyno?
I have heard 5,5 yields great results but would prefer to only do this once or as few times as possible. Based on what I've read, it seems like every motor is different and will react different to certain settings. This is on a stock ve with i/h/e. I have not decided on upgrading the springs/retainers yet.

-The realtime I acquired came from a ve'd b14. Should I just modify that bin to work with my n60 maf and fuel setup or start with say a base calum ve bin?

-I will read more on the engine harness swap as well, but is there any key points I need to be well aware of before yanking the b15 harness out and putting the B14 in?

-I am still on the stock 259cc rr injs. I have already installed a nismo fpr. These should be fine at 4 bar I am assuming? I have some 370's around somewhere, but have no clue where they are honestly.

Should be it for now. I just want everything to go smoothly and to have it back on the road asap as I am still looking to daily the car. Thanks for any and all input!

Stock VE injectors are 333cc, did you replaced them?

+5, -5 will probably gain more midrange and peak sooner. It will be better for daily car. 0,0 will probably give you better top end and higher peak.

You need to match injs, maf to the ECU. And fuel pressure will affect AFR too... you should use some of base bins with you maf/injs combo a go from there.

The previous owner put the stock roller rocker injs in the rail since the car is still on the stock rr ecu. I was not given the 333's when I bought the car. My 370's seem to have vanished, but hopefully I can locate them or snag another set. I also forgot that I have some Precision 880's that I bought gathering turbo parts, however those seem way too big to run on a stock NA ve correct?

In the meantime, I suppose the 259's should be fine at 4 bar for now. I can always swap and re-tune in the spring.

+5 -5 sounds like the way to go for me then. I want it to have a nice mid range and pull hard to ~8500 or so. Don't want to fall back to the low end of the band when shifting because my motor has yet to benefit from a better header and the 3" exhaust kills the low end right now.

Ah I'm a dumb ass. Just realized that the 370's and my 880's are both side feed.

Looks like I will be in the market for some top feeds in the near future...

You have to lay out what you have.

1) I'd be tempted to run the B14 ecu with the bin on there right now. What injectors and maf is it set up for?

2) I've never had a RR so they have top feed injectors? I'd be tempted to get some 370s or 333s in there. 259s will be about topped out w N1 cams and 4-bar.... I don't know how that would work.

3) 3" exhaust isn't killing your low end. The tune is killing your low end.

4) I'd leave the cams at 0'0' to start. Change one thing at a time and get it dialed in. IF you start just throwing parts at the car you won't know what's wrong if it doesn't fire up and run right off the bat.

looks like a fun project. gl.

what color are the installed injectors. cause the ve uses a sidefeed rail unless you have a top feed one installed.
so idk how you could have roller rocker injs on the ve motor.

Leave the cam gears at the most basic setup. You want to get the car running right before messing with cam gears. 3 inch exhaust is the way to go. You don't need a fuel pressure regulator for na application. In fact I removed mine. Its just and extra part to worry about when troubleshooting. Make sure to have a wideband installed before running the car. This will be important in deternining if the current tune is hurting your engine. I noticed you sold my b15>b14 stepdown. B14 harness might be a better idea. I know other people used 99 p11 harness. Good luck!

Modifying the walbro fuel pump wasn't too hard. You need a dremel to shave of a bunch of parts. Make sure to replace the big o ring around the canister.

After looking closer, what I thought/assumed were the rr injectors actually are the red side feed 91-99 injs. Sorry for the confusion, should have clarified this before posting.

I am not positive of the exact tune on there now. I haven't downloaded the software yet but plan on doing so in the near future. I already have a wideband installed as well. I would like to run 4 bar fuel pressure for sure, that is why I installed the Nismo, got the walbro, and have the electronic fuel press gauge.

Fubar, I did decide to sell the step-down in favor of swapping the entire engine harness. Felt this would minimize any potential wiring issues and would be an overall cleaner install. I will also be able to sit in the car now when playing with the realtime.

Here's an updated pic of the car since I have not posted any in a few months. Thanks for the input from you all as well. I will be updating this thread as I make progress this weekend.
