Base on my own observation for more than 2 year .. Royal Purple 5/30w is the one of the best, my country ( Malaysia ) have summer-like weather for whole year , engine hitting above 200F all the time .. not a single drop of oil after 5000km , im often change it after 10,000km mileage oil interval , no sluggish feel even when it reach 9000km mileage...highly recommended

Just replace the oil filter after 5000km , AND MAKE SURE ALL YOUR ENGINE SEAL IS IN GOOD SHAPE, BECAUSE RP LOVE TO CRAWL OUT FROM THOSE AGING SEAL...WORST THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE.

I run BMW highperformance synthetic oil 5w30. I lost 5th gear about a month ago so im chilling at 50-5500rpm on the highway, and when i get on it pretty hard im chilling around 8 grand sometimes. Just checked my oil yesterday and its still right at the full mark and the oil is still golden. Has right around 1000 miles on this oil so far. Also, i run the oil because i get it for free from work

Everyone seems to have their own opinions about oil and either good or bad experience with it. I've used 10w30 kendall synthetic blend for a couple years (since i got my engine) and it was clean as hell inside the block and head an i've put about 30k on it of daily driving and ass whoopin abuse

Just adding to this thread, i know its old but nice to know someone else is using Kendall, luckily we have this here in the Philippines and we where able to find an importer.

I used both the synthetic blend GT-1 Kendall 5W30 and 10W30 for Circuit (Grid Racing), and Slalom and Kendall oil and no problems on any of the SR's mine and clients cars.

always been loyal to Mobil 1 back stateside, but very expensive here in the Philippines, so sticking with Kendall GT1

So true, I don't use RP on VE for this reason. One time w RP at the track my VE setup ran 1.5-2 quarts through the pcv valve (this is what I believe). I took it home and checked the oil and it was very low. Engine was very healthy and after switching to GC it would not do this.

I've read K series Hondas doing this too, and they often attribute it to atomization of oil from the very high pressure oil pumps (which is a good thing) but it is important to note that the lubricity properties of the RP are still quite good you just have to keep an eye on it more.

This rant is a combination of my personal VE experience, reading K series boards and - Bob is the Oil Guy
