N/A I recommend the 10w30 or 10w40. I ran the 10w40 when I had my n/a ve and my buddies VE ran the same oil as well without issues.

Turbo apps Mobil 15w50 here and if you saw the bottom end of the motor when I dissasembled it at 11k miles of torture I put it through at over 480whp up to roughly 550whp. You wouldnt say Mobil1 sucks. The bearings still looked brand new, not a scuff or mark on the crank, not a scratch on the pistons or walls, cams and valvetrain all looked in perfect condition.

I use the Mobil 1 filter as well.

Ive always used Mobil 1 10w30 in my wifes mdx for the 3 1/2 years we have owned it and 60k miles we have put on it and the oil looks great every time its drained after 5k mile intervals. No metal flakes or anything on the drain plug or in the oil.

Valvoline makes great oil as well. If I was to chose any other brand it would be Valvoline. They are always top notch on the ratings of their products.

When did Mobile 1 change their formula again? From what i have read when they changed their formula around 2008, it sucked. In fact Valvoline stated that they ran tests concluding that their oil was better than Mobil by 4 times.

Did Mobil change their oil since 2008?

Yes, they redid all their line of oils and labels and their prices went up almost $3 and i know thats not to cover the label change, lol. Being all the other oil brands prices stayed the same. This was about a 12-15 months ago when they changed it.

Either way ive used their 10w40 and 15w50 oil prior to the change and again if you saw my motor after the abuse, several 10k plus revs on accident, 8700rpm rev limit always hit every day every chance you wouldnt say anything bad about Mobil 1 at least as far as their 40 weight oil and thicker oils are concerned.

I get my oil from walmart. I've definitely noticed that aside from mobil, valvoline went up in price too. I think oil prices going up has more to do with inflation rather then a change in formula.

German Castrol is made in Germany instead of America. It is a real Group 4 synthetic oil, it's very good and cheap alternative to Amsoil.

I missed that one in my top three. Supposedly, that's one of the best oils you can buy. Its very expensive.
