I would not run the current formula Mobil anything. Esp M1.

German Castrol here for Winter and I'd probably run the rotella for Summer. On my last VE I got a few Blackstone reports and they indicated it was a good choice and the OCI could be pushed to 5k with normal use.

I have my baseline sample sitting here on my desk since August for this car but it may be too late to send it.

I've been running Mobil 1 10/30 for 4 years now. Thinking of switching to 5/30.

Mobil 1 since that testing has changed their formula and now meets and exceeds all standards. BTW that test was done on their 5w30 and 10w30 weight oils. Their 40 weight oils and above passed. But they have since redone their entire line. Hence why the price of their oil went up $2/qt from 6 bucks a quart to now almost 9 bucks a quart.

N/A I recommend the 10w30 or 10w40. I ran the 10w40 when I had my n/a ve and my buddies VE ran the same oil as well without issues.

Turbo apps Mobil 15w50 here and if you saw the bottom end of the motor when I dissasembled it at 11k miles of torture I put it through at over 480whp up to roughly 550whp. You wouldnt say Mobil1 sucks. The bearings still looked brand new, not a scuff or mark on the crank, not a scratch on the pistons or walls, cams and valvetrain all looked in perfect condition.

I use the Mobil 1 filter as well.

Ive always used Mobil 1 10w30 in my wifes mdx for the 3 1/2 years we have owned it and 60k miles we have put on it and the oil looks great every time its drained after 5k mile intervals. No metal flakes or anything on the drain plug or in the oil.

Valvoline makes great oil as well. If I was to chose any other brand it would be Valvoline. They are always top notch on the ratings of their products.

ive ran mobile, vavoline, castrol gtx with all sorts of filters. in all my cars, never really noticed a diff, for the most part all my motors ran great, unless i phyisically pushed the limit etc or there was a mechanical malfunction. id never attribute motor failure to oil.

Well the sample I have here for the VE happens to be M1 so if I send it in I'll have some data.

Valvoline VR1 in whatever weight. My friend switched from castrol edge/syntec mix and noticed less oil consumption plus it pulled harder. BTW it never used oil when he had mobil 1. I'm running the 20W-50 conventional right now. Ben using valvoline for a long time now no problems.

I wish I could get 5-10w 50 around here. 15w doesn't cut it in cold VA weathers.

Now are the new Mobile 1 synthetics finally group 4 instead of 3?
