Thread: car hesitation

got a VE under the hood

but when i goto give it more cas ( more than just normal acceleration ) it seems to go upto about 3-3500 rpm then hesitate and sputter as if its not getting gas, then go up

this happens totally at random when driving

could it possibly be bad gas or fuel filter?

i cleaned the MAF, made sure the plug wires were down tight, the plugs are pretty much new about 5000 miles on them, everything looks good, everything is plugged in.

just hesitation...

it started happening a few months back when it would rain, and id goto accellerate, the car would jerk real fast as it fuel had just been cut off, but then continue as normal...

Maybe a bad fuel pump?

What ECU are you running?

Mine only hesitates when cold up to 2500rpm.
When it warms up it stops.
I'm running a JWT ecu. I believe this is why.

Did you check your timing? That's where I would start.

its a calum ecu, ill take a look at the timing, i havent messed with it tho, it just started outta nowhere. im thinking its bad gas or the fuel pump

This has been fixed. The solder on inside of the MAF came undone, so I soldered it back together, runs great again!
