Thread: bent ex valve's

ok so i bring my VE head to the machine shop for a clean up valve job and valve seals and i get a phone call the next day from the machinist and he claimed i had 6 bent ex valves wtf! physical timing was correct 20 rollers in between the dots on the cam gears and in and ex 10 oclock & 12 on tdc... but i noticed my tensioner was kinda FUBAR i could compress it half way in with my bear hands.. could this be the cause (he cant find replacement ex valves x_x ) the car ran b4 i took the head off and the compression on all cyl was 225 psi +-2 any thoughts ideas advice would be apreciated

Doesnt seem like you would have bent valves. Do you have any marks on the pistons? If not then they are not bent. Valves dont just bend without hitting the pistons. And i highly doubt you would have 225psi across with bent valves.

this is exactly y im confused lol there where tiny lil indentations on # 3 and 4 i hope hes not trying to f me over he said around 18 bucks a valve ima post up pics of the pistons as soon as i upload them to photo bucket

i cant find any clues of the valves smacking in to any of the other 2 pistons

to be honest i cant even tell if it hit i pass my finger nail over them and i feel a lil lip

doesnt look like they hit at all. There would be marks inside of the valve reliefs if they hit. I think hes not being honest.

he swears that when he put the valves in the machine they wobble.. x_x but yes ashton i agree with u i think hes BS me idk what to do now he cut the valve seats and lapped in the intake side skimmed the head and bead blasted it
