I swear the set of pistons that I pulled out of my ve when i dropped the valve the tops looked exactly like the 20v pistons but without the coating on the side. They barely had any valve relief at all unlike the other standard ve pistons ive seen that had pretty significant valve reliefs. Im also thinking that there are variations but its hard to tell. All I know is my ve ran strong as hell and had 245psi of compression across the board. Where most are getting 220-230 from what ive seen.

Hmmm interesting. Again I could be wrong but Im almost certain the tops of my ve pistons looked exactly like 20v pistons.

nope i do not, i sold the head that was thrashed. All i know is that the comparison from the 20v pistons and standard ve pistons ive seen, my valve reliefs i could have swore were tiny like the 20v but no coating on the side. I remember them being tiny because from the standard ve pistons ive seen i was expecting deeper valve reliefs. Being i added some nice dents on the already tiny reliefs on the pistons from the overrev.

Interesting. All i know is it was a very very strong running ve even with stock cams and still pulled to 8k every gear and stayed side by side to a type r k20 on kpro, full bolt ons in an eg hatch.

Reading through some threads on G20.net and saw this post by Snickers:

not to mention, dont you think GregV would have come accross these? since he can get all the other ones, i dont see why he couldn't get these unicorns if they exist..

if theres a difference in compression its gotta be in the head i think.

Bringing this back from the Dead. I agree with Lynch, Greg would have two different parts numbers(old sr20ve, new sr20ve) than. I guess it safe to say

Stock CR for SR20VE betwwen 10.5:1 & 11.0:1......
