I think those plastic wire splicers are a little better than but connectors... In all honesty, the factory uses the butt splicers but I'm just not good at putting them on. I end up clamping them too hard and cutting wire. Butt connectors and splice connectors are fine for stuff that isn't a big deal like a stereo, but for stuff that is pertinent for the car running like maf, safc, ignition, or important electronics like a cam switch - soldered connections are best IMO. Again, that's just me though.

Basically what I did was solder in a wire in, and then solder that same wire (red) on the other end to my MSD Wire. There is no reason I would need to take it off, but if I did I would just cut it and tape the lead. My friends used to always tell me this and I didn't listen back in the day... until after a year or so, and all those butt connections vibrated loose, grounded out and fried something.

I agree that soldering is the way to go on most things. Other people will tell you different but if you know how to solder correctly, the connection will be much better than any kind of crimp connector. I used to solder wires and circuit boards everyday for 2 1/2 years. My solder joints had to be inspected with a huge microscope since for a year of that time I was making harnesses and testing equipment for aircraft. If anyone needs tips on soldering the right way, shoot me a pm, I would be happy to help. I am glad you got your car back up and running and did it the right way.

sounds like it's time for me to do some more rewiring.... just did the main harness recently got rid of emissions conectors and fixed wires in the injector part.
