Something similar happened to me when I was running too rich and cat got clogged. Irc you have a side exit exhaust with no cat so I would also think maf or ecu.

I'm picking the car up here this evening... I bought a new dizzy cap and rotor this morning before I came home. I'm going to start there... I should have a spare dizzy in the garage to swap out if need be. The maf definitely was stablized and plugged in. It's a stock DE maf so I can replace that too. I've had the IACV plug that goes to the intake unplugged before, and that usually doesn't create a rich condition, it creates a lean one - but I will check it. The problem was all of a sudden, so inj. I doubt all four got faulked at once, but I can check them last. Car now has a 3" full exhaust with a cat, so I can check that as well. It's a 3" high flow though. RRRrrr I can't wait to get the car here... this is pissing me off, so I'm changing the clutch on my bike for the time being since I'm stranded lol.

Thanks for your input yall. I will post up with my findings hopefully tonight.

Sounds like maf, throttle screw or ecu issue. I would test to see if you are getting fuel & spark first, check maf voltages etc. Start with the basics & don't over think it.... you don't need to go through the hassle of swapping out parts unless you eliminate everything else first. Try to troubleshoot the issue, not just throw parts at it. What if the dist isn't the issue and the one you put in to test has an issue? Same thing with the maf... You want to eliminate that kind of variable if you can. A new cap & rotor won't hurt but that doesn't sound like the issue. Good luck, if you need more help I'm sure you will post back here.

Guys, our cars will start without mafs even plugged in, and unless im reading this wrong (its possible) his car wont even start.

so what makes you think its the maf? i've drivin a se-r with a bad maf an i just couldn't rev past 3k.. thats it.. same with it unplugged..

it sounds like something ignition related to me.. i'd test for spark an fuel right away.

Well if the car won't start which is how I read it now that lynch said something and I thought about it, lol, it is not the maf. I just read the driveabilty issues and thought maf. Since it doesn't start I would be checking basics, fuel, spark & timing.

Try reburning the roms, had mine get corrupt somehow out of nowhere, reloaded the bin and all was good.
