SR20VE + SR16VE pistons
Hello guys, i want to build a SR20VE engine using SR16VE pistons and SR16VE Cams, but, i know by posts of Andreas Miko, that i would get 12.5:1 CR, now i want to know if i could be able to drop the CR down to 11.5:1 and if that would be safe for 91 Octane gas...

Does anyone have done this setup? im still thinking on using SR16VE or N1 cams... im worried about the detonation with the low lobe... with high lobe i think it would not detonate...

Please Help...

I know its not that CR, as far as i know, i will get 12.5:1(andreas Miko said that), i would like to put a Thicker headgasket to get that CR down to 11.5:1 mostly because the gas here is pretty crapy...

Doesn't SR16VE pistons in an SR20VE bring the compression ratio to around 13.x:1?

Later in that thread he says it is 13.5:1 or so. I also have heard 13.2:1 or so. I am using them in my motor with a VET headgasket. Pump gas 93.

See i also heard that using SR16VE pistons on a stock SR20VE/DE internals, brings around 13.7:1, and N1 brings it to 13.2:1

how much in mm is the difference between the metalic VET headgasket and the stock one?

I really prefer the VET headgasket vs the cheap aftermarket ones like cometic. I have seen many motors blow up cometics that I dont trust them anymore...

yeah Cometics seem to be pretty shite, i will either be going for stock Nissan or a Cosworth one.
