Spare SR20VE, what to do with it?
Any suggestions on what to do with my spare SR20VE motor? It currently is just sitting. I wish I had more time on my hands to have a plan of action, but should I maybe get the head P&P and some port work done for high-revs with a custom cam? or just sell it and re-coup costs of the build in the car?

The motor itself is SR20VE top and bottom end with a spun-rod bearing, not sure on what cylinder. The thing has been sitting a outside a while (6+months) so I'll need to clean it out for sure.

If I decide to sell it what's the best way to go about it? part it out? or sell it as a whole? or top-end / bottom-end?

I wouldn't mind taking it apart and learning a bit more about the VEs.

give it to me or sell it. preferably the first. as a whole is easier.

yeah, I am going to be taking the head apart to thoroughly clean it, then I'll take pics, if anyone is interested at that point in time, they can PM me,

Do the bearings bottom end etc. and throw some 16ve pistons in there. then if you have to sell it its got a little something extra.

I say go big, we only get to do things once. I was in the same position and decided to go all out. All the knowledge I have gained and friends made with my build is worth it. I have had this ongoing project for 3 years. I decided to gain knowledge from others also learned new things and apply it to my build. Well worth the wait...

hmmmm....

My current setup is 16ve pistons on Eagle rods on 8cw DE crank and block. stock 20VE head with Franklin stg3s.

Even with the Franklin stg3s compression was 225-240 across the board (225 6-8 cranks, 240 compression with 10+ cranks to see how high it really is), rofl, highest I had seen before was 210 on a 10:1 motor with JWT S4s.

I will be looking into all options. I will definitely begin by tearing the head down, seeing what kind of shape it is in, same with the bottom-end. cleaning everything to beautiful and then either putting it back together to sell or leave it apart for headwork, etc.
