ive read somewhere here i guess that valve float starts at 8600? infact they had to rebuild engine due to that...thats why only 8500 is recommended

someone else has done h22 springs as an upgrade?

People N1 springs are softer becuas ethey are designed at a specific harmonic rate for the ramp and lift of the N1 camshaft!!!

They are an improvement over 20ve 16ve springs.

I thought this might be relevant. The run on green, the one that goes to 110 mph is the 9650 rpm run.

This was with the TurbeFreak valve springs. So I can vouch for these.

Im just saying what I saw with my own eyes. Ive been in a few stock valvetrained n1'd ves. Many other friends and guys on the board have done the same thing.

Like I said just what ive seen.

A race motor would be capable of 9k safely I feel and seen but to bounce off the limited on a Daily driver idk how long that would last but like everyone says stock springs are good for 8500 besides if your that close to the limited hopefully your powerband stays up that far cause if not what's the use of going so high in the powerband when your losing power if your worried about wheel spin learn to feather the gas and ride it out. If ur doin a road racing setup I can see having more rpm to stay in gear longer but this is jut my opinion

I took my NX to the track a few times, shifting at 9k is nice it drops you right after 6k where the party begins. I was overheating after a while so I had to drop the rev limiter to 8k but it was not fun anymore. this was with a Koyo radiator and UR water pump pulley. Maybe an N1 pump is also needed.

One more thing, my VE just threw a rod and I am blaming the half counter weight stock crank, but i don't know for sure until I tear it down.

So there is more to valve springs to get a reliable 9k motor.

i wouldnt blame the ve crank. your not the only one reving to 9k with a stock ve crank. i cant think of any other ve cranked guys throwing rods all motor....

either way sucks, but i deff wouldnt blame the crank.

get spring and retainers.

it really depends on the power and how fast the rpms climb.

after a dyno session this past weekend we learned even n1 cams can float valves at lower rpms then we thought before. 7700 rpm it started floating and bleeding power off.
