The last big trip I did in my car was 12 months ago and I got 7.8L/100km (about 30MPG). This wasn't too bad considering the car was full of gear. I was using 91RON petrol and 11.5:1 compression.

The performance of the engine is a bonus but the mpgs are mainly killing me. So I am trying to get a little money together to do a swap...so hard to save these days when you work a shit job.......

Umm.....your shitty gas mileage has nothing to do with your 220k de, swapping in a ve will change nothing. Check your o2 sensor, tps, coolant temp sensor first

I am curious, do you smell gas every time you get out of your car?

I can't stand the heavy feeling on the throttle when the tank is full.

I installed a new o2 sensor (4 wire) it is grounded to the intake manifold. Throttle position voltage is right according to Nissan Data Scan, I think it was at 0.46v. The coolant temp sensor I'll have to look into that.

I am not sure what it is, but I do smell a fuel odor when I get in and out of the car after I go for a drive. Other than that I don't smell it.

hahahha heavy feel on the throttle?

if your car feels slow with a full tank of gas you got some problems.. thats like saying you dont let people ride in your car with you cause you dont like how much more you have to press on the gas pedal heh

plz dont take that offensively i mean no offense..

Check the fuel tank vent hose. It is part number 17226.

172 Fuel Tank :: Fuel & Engine Control :: Genuine Nissan Parts :: Sentra / NX Parts (B13) 1991-1994 :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

I have had 2 leak on me now. I just ordered a new one from GregV. Unfortunately, the hose has different size diameter ends so you cant really go to Autozone and get a plain old fuel line. They are a bit expensive but so is pissing gas on the ground every time you drive anywhere.

............................... There is only one seat in the car in the summer time........ The only time I place the passenger seat inside is if I have to take my mom out shopping Even those interior items I feel them on the throttle.

If you do not fill up ur gas tank all the way, you are allowing the fuel to turn into a vapor. This will affect your mileage negatively.

Whatever you feel can go to the curb. Fill up your tank all the way. Stop wasting more money by doing low fills into your tank all the time just because of the weight savings. Just enjoy the raw power of your car right before you have to fill up the tank and use the other 3/4 of a tank to drive for the best mileage possible.

DO a full tune up. Spark plugs, dizzy, dizzy cap, rotor, check the seals for dizzy, change ur oxygen sensor, change temp sensors, maybe change ur thermostat, clean your MAF sensor wire, etc... My stock, original, USDM DE has 200,000 miles and I get 28-32 MPG in the summer time. Winter time, all MPG drops in cold areas because gasoline has more oxygen into it to help cars with cold starts and colder weather.
