idling problems
hey guys i am fairly new to the forum but been in the SR camp for quite some time now. We recently did a ve swap in my 91 b13 running on the ve ecu ssac 4-2-1 headers de maf 3" exhaust. The problem is the car wont idle properly. it is either at 1.5k-2k or really low and lopey until it dies also at idle it is extremely rich and it takes forever to reach operating temp. any ideas as to what may be causing this?

This is the EXACT issue I have, which is being caused by a short somewhere in the wiring going into the plug on my distributer. Wiggle the wires going into the plug on top of your dizzy and see if it makes your idle change (a very apparent change)

(Note this is on my DE, but still, same symptoms nonetheless)

your running the wrong maf. you have a ve ecu so you need the ve maf or an xttera maf.

ok i will swap the maf this weekend. do you think the maxima 95-99 maf will work

The Maxima MAF should work. But you will have to wire it properly, which means cutting your harness. It would be easier to plug in your B13 ECU and see whether that fixes the bulk of your problem.

ok so i swapped out the ecu's the b13 ecu basically fixed all my problems. the temp gage is where its supposed be, the car idles smooth and it feels alot faster.

Good. Now that your car is stable and running, you can start looking into your options for tuning it. You will be amazed at the improvements that are within reach.
