im not to familiar with what coatings people use, or if they really work. what happens if say the coating peals off or flakes off, id say that would be the end to the motor.

I haven't heard of coatings failing, i'm not saying they don't just that I haven't heard of it happening. They are used extensively in f1. so they definitely work. The piston top coating is a ceramic based coating

Here's another thing to remember e85 is never consistent some batches are good others go bad if the sit around to long. Depending on the batch will depend on how well it works with the tune.

Idk about that. But they do change the belnd for winter by adding more gasoline to the mix the try and make the cold start problems a little better... but you can always just retune for the winter blend and then go back to the summer blend tune with it come back... that's what we all do around here.
