^Thats the one thing thats kept me in it. Granted, I been in it for only 7 years, I met some cool ass people along the way and we always keep in touch. Can't really find any other tight knit communities. Just happy to see your going to finish it. I think at that point you won't be able to sell it and would rather garage the bitch to show your kids. Lol.

I pulled my car out of my life for almost 5 years now. I was to the point that I almost sold it but, I decided on parting it out and keeping the shell.

It's a good thing to take a hiatus. It has made me look at this car shit through different eyes. It can become an obsession very easily.

lol i took almost a 2 year hiatus after i sold my first se-r back in 2005. Worst decision i could have made, went from having a perfect daily driver n/a de aztec red sentra like yours to having a car payment on an MSP, although fun car, but cost me a lot of money in the end. I dont know why I sold it really, it was one of those quick decisions that I didnt really think ahead on.

Glad you didnt sell the beautiful shell Rob. Soo clean. My aztec red se-r had alot of rust though and very high mileage. But it was fun and reliable for sure. Glad I found myself a clean, low mileage rust free az/nv se-r. It was like having a fresh start.

But yes, it can become an obsession very quickly.

bes you right, this group of guys cant be found in any other community. alot of guys have gone out of there way to help me out on this build. you all know you are.

rob, im amost where you were 5 years ago. if i keep it imagine what ill do in a few yeas ;p haha.

rob, ahston, this is what it became, a complete obsession, i only had my eyes on the end goal, my mentality was go big or go the fuck home and never come back. failure wasnt an option and unfortuneatly it dug me in deeper.

at some point, i slowed down, talked with some sr20 guys, close car friends, my girl, my pops.

im getting a stock ve this weekend, slapping all the bolt on goodies tunning the piss out of it and driving it for a few weeks before major snow hits. take it off the road for the winter and refuel.

so this is the official end of the build. ill have some pics and vids of the bolted up ve in a week or so.

i appreciated everyones input, opinions and info, weither i agreed with it or not, i valued it regardless.

to the couple of guys who lent a hand when it was needed, you know who you are and it meant alot to me.

Calling dibs on the purple valve cover and purple cusco stb. We can trade my oem blue vc and cusco with $ on top from my end or I can purchase them outright.

Thank You, Finally!!!! Like I said Strat, let the rest of them figure it out , we laid out the legwork. We can never say to ourselves that we never tried, and not once, but multiple times. Like all projects, and this is way beyond any other project,we tried and now its time for these other guys to shine. We will be known as the forefathers in the 2.4 game.....

your right fiz.

id like to give a last update pertaining to the last failure.

i dont know exactly why it failed but this is what failed.

i had the motor running for 700-1000 miles prior to failure.

it made 260 give or take on the dyno. felt great.

on the way home it poped around 7-8k during a wot pull in third.

hole the block in the front and also in the back.

the rod broke above the big end and the big end was still attached to the crank.

the broken rods bearing was shot and so was one of the other rod bearings that also destroyed the journal of the inside of the big end.

with that being said the crank had two bad journals.

the broken rod managed to hit the bottom of the #3 piston and put a good gash/dent in it.

the head luckily was unharmed.

i dont know what failed, all other bearings appeared to look good. the motor also seemed to need water in the radiator regularly. a little here and there but it comp tested and leak down test checked out. temps jumped up during break in, to about 220ish and dropped back down, that never happend agian. it ran very cool and even cooler on the dyno due to the e85's cooling properties.

so thats it in a nut shell.

ill build another ve. thats for sure. not sure what direction or when, as of right now im looking foward to just romping on the car and enjoying a reliable set up.

picking up a ve this weekend !
