Well I have two det blocks in my garage and ve bottom end on the way.. I'll have to use the best out of the three..

get a t gauge and check the bore. if there's still visable hone marks all the way up and down the cylinders you should be good. then just rehone the block.

update.
my 2nd gear started grinding.. so myself and another local (sr20's rule) got a sr16ve swap.

so are you going to use the sr16 pistons or still getting a cp? are you going to use that head or is Cameron going to use it?

You certainly can measure the bore to make sure it is still round, re-hone the cylinders, run new pistons and rings and have an engine that will last. There is not always a need to bore when switching pistons. You need to know how to measure properly and if it is within spec, good to go. There are several engines running for years that prove this I have done personally. Not sr20's, just customers engines that were done at the shop I was at for the last 7 years.
