SR20VE + N1 cams + CP 12.5:1 pistons
Just a simple question as I'm always looking out for interesting stuff.
Will 12.5:1 86.0mm CP pistons interfere with N1 cams? Without doing any headwork or something.

I saw the pistons have very deep valve reliefs so I don't think so but just asking. I assume they have oil squirter notches aswell?

no it'll be fine. i have cp 12.5:1 pistons in my de block, with 16ve head and n1 cams, loads of room!

If they were the one's made for the VE they will clear oil squirters and they have deeper valve reliefs than standard 20ve pistons. So like was said above, you will have plenty of room.

Cool! Curious about the possible gains. Something to look out for.

- The intake and header combo is very important N/A and the tune is more important than both of those.

Porting and polishing the intake manifold?
My air-intake is stock. Only Apexi Super Intake filter.

When the cp pistons are installed, is the piston above the deck @ tdc?

I'm curious because it kinda gives the impression that flat top pistons in the 20ve will give a similar compression (of course reliefs have to be installed)... Am I wrong?

I guess my question is how does cp pistons achieve 12.5;1 with such deep reliefs and a flat top?

Well if they are 12.5 comp piston they should be dome not flat especially at 86mm.

If I remember correctly, I heard that with the N1 pistons, unless you anticipate running 100+ Octane, you will have to down-tune the car. In which case you will not be making power to it's full potential. I think the 20V pistons are a better option if you plan on daily driving it on regular 93 or 91 octane.
