Flow data
I had some interesting results from my newly ported 20VE cyl head.
This is all standard size valves as I am still using the 86mm bore.
Inlet:
Stock flowed at 234.22 @28" @0.50 lift
ported flowed at 269.35 @ 28" @ 0.50 lift
With my adaptor plate and M3 throttles it flowed at 262.66 @ 28" @ 0.50 lift, a 2.5% loss
With stock manifold it flowed at 240.91 @ 28", a 10.75% loss
Potential flow with stock valves 292.77 @ 28" @ 0.50 lift
All in a 17.3% gain.
Exhaust:
Stock flowed at 165.62 @ 28" @ 0.50 lift
Ported flowed at 187.37 @ 28" @ 0.50lift, a 13% gain.
Potential flow = 210.79 @ 0.50 lift
Will post a sheet later on

Very interesting. Any pics of the motor with M3 throttles?

What size are M3 ITB's again? 48 or 50mm?

50mm should be perfect sizing from the investigations I did

My cyl head porter thought these throttles were maid exactly for the VE. Same oval shape as the VE intake and roughly the same diameter. Thought we were going to have more losses with the adaptor plate with the 30 degree angle but are happy with the overall result.

Spoke to the porter on the phone today. He said that at certain places in the graph, he actually picked up more flow with the throttles than without them. Will wait till I get the flow chart and post it

very nice results! are you thinking of topping them off with a little v-stack and pod filter for each?
when you get to the point of rigging the throttle cable(s) remember to take more pics
