just porting the manifold will not correct the problem with it.. other flaws, both with n1 and stock ve

I think this thread is very productive, it is helping get to the root of what has to be done to make more power on a NA motor. I should be building a relatively mild VE this winter and i am learning where to spend a little extra money to gain that last bit of power.

Thanks to all who have posted, I dont think its out of control or anyone is attacking anyone directly. Keep it up.

3" Exhaust
SR16 cams
SR16 flywheel
CS Cam Gears

Pretty basic set up tuned with a EMS Stinger 4424. But you know they say us FL boys don't have corrected #'s The car consistantly made 199-200, 201 202, 203 whp passes on a Dyno Jet.

The car also trapped a consistant 99-101 mph in the 1/4 mile. Gio had pretty much the same results with his car with a simillar set up.

I then sold the SR16 cams and the Fuji and installed a set of custom Grind cams from Charles and a Kesi Header and lets just say the car never ran the same. It slowed down and lost power big time.

Hence the sale of everything and on to my boost project. Time to make real power!

We had same experience here with non N1 cams but with cam gears in the mix they produce the same peak #s as N1 at 0,0 but sooner and power falls sooner too and the cars are equally faster too jejejeje

I loved that set up I had. Hell it also made 154 ft tq. Very simple and ran well. I wish N1's weren't so hard to find at the time.

Nice. Do you have any advice on cam gears setting? I want peak as soon as possible (road racing). Thanks

If it finally comes through I'll be working on a sr20ve block with n1 head and intake manifold, pistons, cams and stillen cam gears ... Would also have to get a better header
